Steeds meer vrouwen in Europa boeken travel online
Vrouwen halen ook in Europa hun achterstand op internet in waardoor het gebruik van internet steeds meer de bevolkingsopbouw representeert:
European women are logging on to the internet to research and buy holidays and travel services in greater numbers than ever before. They now account for 44 per cent of all visitors to multi-category travel websites. In February, 11.6 million women visited travel websites, 2.2 million more than in the same month in 2004, an increase of 23 per cent. According to online audience tracking company Nielsen/NetRatings, which has just released the data, the trend mirrors that seen in the US, where 49 per cent of all visitors to online travel sites are
women. Gabrielle Prior, European internet analyst at Nielsen/NetRatings, says: “Past research has shown that women value the speed and convenience of online shopping, and it seems this trend also extends to researching and booking travel online.”
Expedia is still the most popular travel website overall, with 4.45 million unique visitors during February 2005,42.4 per cent of whom were women. Lastminute.com was second overall, but attracted a significantly higher female audience, 50.6 per cent of its 3.98 million visitors.
Expedia attracts roughly the same number of visitors from the UK, France and Italy as lastminute.com, but is far stronger in the important German market.Bron: marketingweek 31-03-05
Hmmm, betekent dit dat vrouwen meer worden aangesproken door de term Lastminute?
