Planet gaat aan de cross platform consumer generated content

Af en toe denk ik wel eens, zo’n titel daar kan toch niemand iets mee. Maar misschien prikkelt het toch de nieuwsgierigheid.....
Planet gaat haar wireless activeiten promoten door vakantiegangers de mogelijkheid te bieden hun favoriete foto te uploaden. de mooiste worden ‘s avonds op TV uitgezonden. Ik vind het wel een geinig initiatief. Alleen snap ik de link met wireless niet zo goed....

Nog weinig coordinatie bij multichannel activiteiten

Gartner heeft een studie gedaan naar de coordinatie van promotionele activiteiten door multichannel retailtailers. De uitkomst is dat 76% van de retailers dit niet doet:

One major barrier to coordinating brand marketing across channels is the failure to share customer information to support customer-related metrics and relationship marketing activity, Gartner says in “Benchmark Your Multi-channel Retailing Practices.”
The cultural and skill gap between interactive and broadcast/print media also makes it difficult for retailers to coordinate marketing activities in different channels, according to the report. And retailers’ use of multiple agencies for interactive and traditional media activities results in a non-coordinated approach.
Gartner also found that only 26% of retailers fully coordinated promotions planning. “The tactics and skills required for successful promotions management can be very different across channels,” Gartner says. “For the catalog, it’s direct marketing skills. For the web, it’s about manipulating product offers on the home page based on web analytics.”
Promotion management tools also are basically channel-specific in design, and it will be at least two to three years before offerings come out that truly deliver on multi-channel promotion management, according to the report.
